MUST SEE IN VIENNA

THE VIENNA RINGSTRASSE


The Vienna Ringstrasse is 5.3 kilometers long. Along it's path you can find  numerous monumental buildings built during Historicism in the 1860s to 1890s. The buildings erected there - from the State Opera to the Art History Museum - are among the most important sights in Vienna today.


SCHÖNBRUNN CASTLE


The former summer residence of the Habsburgs impresses with imperial state rooms, a magnificent garden and an elaborate virtual reality experience.  

 

Schönbrunn Palace is one of the most beautiful baroque complexes in Europe.

 

The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its historical significance, its unique complex and magnificent furnishings.


SCHÖNBRUNN ZOO

  

The Tiergarten Schönbrunn in Vienna is the oldest existing zoo in the world, the only surviving "baroque menagerie". Today it is one of the most modern zoos in the world.


NASCHMARKT

  

The most famous market in Vienna, with around 120 market stalls and restaurants, offers a wide range of culinary delights, from Viennese to Indian, from Vietnamese to Italian. The Naschmarkt is a meeting place for Viennese and Tourists alike. The flea market on Saturday is also a must see. 


PRATER

 

In one part of the Viennese Parter you can , also known as the "Green Prater", there are wide sunbathing lawns, shady trees and quiet paths.  In the other area find attractions like  the nostalgic merry-go-round to the modern looping track.

Around 250 attractions entertain you in the Vienna Prater: from Autodrom tracks to ball throwing and shooting galleries, rollercoasters and ghost trains to the flight simulator.


STEPHAN'S CATHEDRAL

 

St. Stephen's Cathedral is Vienna's landmark and at the same time the center of the city. At 136 meters high, it is the highest church in Austria.

 

St. Stephen's Cathedral in the heart of the city center is 107 meters long.  You can climb 343 steps to the Türmerstube, from which you have a magnificent view over Vienna.


MUSEUMSQUARTIER

 

The MuseumsQuartier Wien (MQ) is one of the largest cultural areas in the world. On the outskirts of the city center, in the former imperial stables, it combines facilities from a wide variety of art genres, restaurants, cafés and shops in a post-modernist combination of baroque buildings and modern architecture on an area of 60,000 m².
